Featuring A Familiar Cast of Characters –
JAMES PICKERING, LINDA STEPHENS, CHRISTINA PANFILIO, ERIC PARKS,
BRENDAN MEYER, and Introducing MARCUS TRUSCHINSKI and MATT ZAMBRANO
October 25, 2016 – [Milwaukee] Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents The Foreigner, a classic side-splitting comedy for the whole family in the Quadracci Powerhouse beginning November 15 through December 18. Milwaukee Rep first premiered The Foreigner by the late Larry Shue in 1983 and it returns to The Rep after playing to millions worldwide, becoming one of the most celebrated comedies of all time.
The Foreigner stars Associate Artist James Pickering in his 43rd season at The Rep, Linda Stephens (Ten Chimneys, Cabaret), Brendan Meyer (The Mousetrap), 2005/06 Season Emerging Professional Residents Christina Panfilio (Seascape) and Eric Parks. Rounding out the company are Marcus Truschinski (APT Core Company Member) and Matt Zambrano (Peter and The Starcatcher), both making their Rep debuts.
The Foreigner is directed by Artistic Associate Laura Gordon, with set design by Bill Clarke (The 39 Steps), costume design by Rachel Laritz (The Mousetrap), lighting design by Jason Fassl (Man of La Mancha) and sound design by Joe Cerqua (Of Mice of Men).
The Foreigner is a tale of two friends – Froggy and Charlie. When Froggy brings Charlie to a fishing lodge, Charlie is feeling a bit unsociable. Hoping to help his friend, Froggy has the perfect solution—just tell everyone Charlie doesn’t speak English! But things start to go awry when Charlie suddenly finds himself privy to everyone’s secrets, including a plot to take over the lodge. Charlie must “learn” English quickly and think on his feet if he wants to save the lodge and his new friends.
The Foreigner begins performances November 15 and runs through December 18 in the Quadracci Powerhouse. Opening night is set for Friday, November 18 at 8pm. Tickets to the this hilarious farce are now on sale and can be purchased online at www.MilwaukeeRep.com, by phone at 414-224-9490 or in person at the Ticket Office (108 E. Wells Street).
Executive Producer for The Foreigner is the Anthony Petullo Foundation, Associate Producer is Four-Four Foundation, Inc. The performance of Linda Stephens is sponsored by Anthony and Donna Meyer. The Rep is sponsored in part by The United Performing Arts Fund.
