United Performing Arts Fund Announces 2015-16 Affiliate Grants

The United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) announced its selection of Affiliates for the 2015-16 performance season.  A total of 18 performing arts organizations have been named a UPAF Affiliate, collectively receiving $128,123 in grants. A total of 28 groups applied for Affiliate funding this year.

“The Affiliate program is a way for UPAF to support smaller organizations that add to the richness and diversity of our performing arts offerings,” said Deanna Tillisch, UPAF president and CEO. “The Affiliates increase the accessibility our community has to the performing arts by providing a wide array of performances. These groups add creative vitality to our region and help expand the geographic footprint that UPAF is able to impact beyond Milwaukee County.”

To be eligible for the Affiliate program, an organization needs to meet the following criteria:

  • Be a certified 501(c)(3) organization
  • Compensate professional artists and administrative staff
  • Be governed by a board of directors
  • Be based in the seven county region of Southeastern Wisconsin
  • The principle objective of the applicant is one of the following:
  • The production of high quality performing arts along with employment and payment of professional artists for its performances; or
  • Service of youth by providing professional performing arts training leading to high quality performances as evidenced by awards or other outside recognition. The training must culminate in a public performance of the funded experience.
