The United Performing Arts Fund Recognizes June as UPAF Ride for the Arts Month in Honor of 2021 Event
MILWAUKEE – The United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) announced today that June has been proclaimed as UPAF Ride for the Arts month by the City of Milwaukee as well as additional features of the 2021 UPAF Ride for the Arts Series, sponsored by Miller Lite.
The UPAF Ride for the Arts Series provides a fun, purpose-driven event for cyclists of all ages and abilities. This three-day Series, with events on June 6, 13 and 27 in Milwaukee, Waukesha and Ozaukee counties, will allow participants to register, ride and fundraise with confidence in an event that has been approved by the Milwaukee Health Department. Participants can choose their path and ride at their own pace to or from one or all three “Ride Series Reward Stations”.
Ride participants will enjoy live performances by local artists from UPAF Member Groups at the Reward Stations and receive giveaways throughout the UPAF Ride for the Arts Month in addition to being eligible for exciting prizes. Six bicycles and 100 Wheel & Sprocket gift cards will be randomly awarded to participants over the course of the three event Series. In honor of UPAF Ride for the Arts Month, all participants are encouraged to proudly display their bike bib throughout the month of June. This bib will also give participants a free Colectivo coffee when it is shown at participating locations throughout the month of June.
UPAF will also be popping up its 15 foot “Big Bike” inflatable throughout the Greater Milwaukee Area leading up to the Ride on May 1, 8 and 15. All community members will be eligible to win a $50 Wheel & Sprocket gift card by posting a selfie with the Big Bike on Facebook or Instagram using #UPAFRide. Watch the UPAF Ride for the Arts Facebook page for the Big Bike Tour schedule.
Registration for the UPAF Ride for the Arts Series is open now at https://upafride.org. Participants can register for a single series event for $45 or $65 for the three-day series to receive a Repeat Performer bike bib with extra rewards. Registration fees include bike bib and UPAF 2021 Ride for the Arts t-shirt. Items will be mailed to those who register by May 17. T-shirts and packets will be available at participating Wheel & Sprocket stores to those who register after May 17. Participants are also encouraged to further support UPAF’s Member Groups through additional fundraising efforts to earn incentives. The UPAF Ride Series is the UPAF’s single largest fundraiser, playing a critical role in reaching the 2021 fundraising target of $11.3M.
