RUACH Presents: A Journey Through Jewish Music with the Amernet String Quartet
This virtual programs features the Amernet String Quartet and Clarinetist Jesse McCandless, and samples the spectrum of Jewish-related works and composers over the last 150 years of the Diaspora, connecting the European Jewish experience with that of Jews of the Americas. Includes compositions by Schulhoff, Gershwin, and Krein, and features "The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind" by Osvaldo Golijov. Also includes the pre-recorded Q&A on "The Future of Classical Music," with Sarah Dinin of Dinin Arts Management & Consulting, LLC. This interview probes the history and modern-day relevance of classical music and explores the relationship between music and Judaism.
