The Bach Effect

From his day to ours, J.S. Bach has influenced composers like no one else in the history of Western music. In addition to his Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, we’ll hear the effect he has had on musicians as diverse as Mendelssohn (19th-century German), Villa-Lobos (20th-century Brazilian), Arvo Pärt (20th-century Estonian), and Eric Nathan (21st-century American).
