United Performing Arts Fund Announces 2016-17 Affiliate Grants

Smaller performing arts groups receive UPAF support and add to the region’s cultural richness

MILWAUKEE (Oct. 14, 2016) The United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) announced its selection of Affiliates for the 2016-17 performance season.  A total of 14 performing arts organizations have been named a UPAF Affiliate, collectively receiving $104,500 in grants.  An additional $36,555 was allocated to participating Affiliates for performing at 2016 Campaign events.

UPAF recently announced that it allocated a record breaking total of $9,245,000 as a result of the 2016 Campaign, with nearly 85 percent of which going to the six Cornerstone Groups.

“UPAF’s Affiliate Program is a way for UPAF to support smaller performing arts organizations in Southeastern Wisconsin that add to our region’s richness and diversity,” said Deanna Tillisch, UPAF president and CEO. “The Affiliates’ wide array of music, dance and theater performances increases our community’s accessibility to the performing arts, enhance arts education programs and promote creative vitality in our region. We are proud to support our 14 Affiliates, which in turn help expand the geographic footprint of UPAF’s impact beyond Milwaukee County.”
