|Milwaukee, WI–Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) announces the recent hiring of Ron Oshima as Marketing Director, a newly created senior staff role in the organization.
Hailing from the banking industry, Mr. Oshima brings many years of marketing experience to MYSO. His previous roles include VP of Marketing positions at Guaranty Bank, M&I/BMO Harris Bank, Bank One/Chase Bank and National City/PNC Bank.
Mr. Oshima received a Masters of Business Administration degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington.
This new role at MYSO is charged with developing and overseeing the implementation of the organization’s marketing strategy, stewarding the brand with a mix of integrated marketing approaches including communications, public relations, social media, community outreach and more. The role will also include leading market research activities and analyses to better understand the organization’s various target segments and overseeing all marketing activities.
At Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO), we empower young people from diverse backgrounds to joyfully pursue musical excellence while building crucial life skills. Instrumental in changing lives since 1956, MYSO’s programs foster critical thinking skills, creativity and collaboration through more than 40 ensemble and enrichment program options, ranging from symphony, string orchestras, jazz and steel pan bands, to music theory, composition, and international tours, all providing high quality musical experiences to students at various skill levels. With 1,000 young musicians ages 8-18 from as many as 215 schools, 60 communities and 14 counties throughout southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois participating in its many music programs, Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra has become one of the largest organizations of its kind in the United States.
Under the direction of Executive Director Linda Edelstein, the institution employs eleven full-time and 45 part-time staff.
