Milwaukee Business Journal: UPAF names Garrison, Mortara, Rodriguez as 2020 campaign co-chairs
The United Performing Arts Fund said Tuesday that its 2020 campaign will be led by Tami Garrison, community affairs director of MillerCoors; Justin Mortara, principal of the Mortara Group; and Rolando Rodriguez, chairman, president and CEO of Marcus Theatres.
The three executives will serve as co-chairs for the 2020 UPAF campaign to run from March 2 through June 10, 2020. This past year’s UPAF campaign raised $11.9 million for 14 member groups. UPAF provides operating funds for Milwaukee-area performing arts organizations.
The 2020 campaign will be the last to be led by UPAF president and CEO Deanna Tillisch, who announced her intention to retire after its completion.
“UPAF is always so fortunate to attract phenomenal co-chairs for our annual campaign and 2020 will continue the tradition,” said Tillisch in a press release.
Tillisch acknowledged sharing her final campaign with a strong group of co-chairs.
“I am proud to share my last UPAF Campaign with this dynamic team,” she said. “Tami, Justin and Rolando each have a history of community involvement and strong support of the performing arts.”
Garrison oversees hometown community affairs for MillerCoors. She is responsible for community investments, partnerships and the company’s corporate reputation in Milwaukee, Chicago and Golden, Colorado.
Mortara is the former CEO of Mortara Instrument Inc., which grew revenue tenfold under Mortara’s leadership before being sold to Hill-Rom in 2017. Mortara now serves on the boards of the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Ballet, and was chair of the Ballet throughout the organization’s $26 million capital campaign to fund its new facility, the Baumgartner Center for Dance.
Rodriguez is chairman, president and CEO of Marcus Theatres and executive vice president of the parent company, Marcus Corp. (NYSE: MCS). He serves on the board of directors of Children’s Wisconsin and leads multiple Hispanic initiatives, including chairing the board for the recently created Milwaukee Hispanic Collaborative.
