“The United Performing Arts Fund officials announced the final tally on its record-breaking 2017 campaign at its annual meeting Tuesday evening — a total of $12,320,160 to support the performing arts in the Milwaukee area. Check out the attached slideshow to see photos from the annual meeting.
The total topped a goal of beating last year’s effort that raised $12.16 million and allowed the organization to allocate a record amount of money for the arts this year. The amount raised means that the UPAF campaign has grown by 20 percent over the past five years.
“Today we celebrate this year’s landmark year and milestone fundraising total,” said Deanna Tillisch, UPAF president and CEO. “The annual meeting also provides an opportunity to thank the many people, companies and foundations that support the performing arts with their time and dollars.”
Through its annual campaign, UPAF raises money for operating expenses for 14 member groups and numerous affiliates. The organization also provides funds for arts education and community outreach programs.
The 2017 campaign was chaired by Betsy Brenner, former publisher of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; Linda Gorens-Levey, partner with General Capital Group; and Alex Kramer, market leader for the Private Client Reserve of U.S Bank.”
