Milwaukee, WI – After a successful spring run, Next Act Theatre, with Anthony Crivello and Steve Scionit, will remount their Special Presentation, HEART WHAT’S IN THE HEART: An Italian Shoemaker’s Tale, written by Steve Scionti and James Shanta. This original, one-man show (with additional dialog by Anthony Crivello), celebrate the life of Scionti’s grandfather. HEAR WHAT’S IN THE HEART will run October 24 – 28, 2018, at Next Act Theatre’s home, 255 South Water Street, in Walker’s Point.
HEAR WHAT’S IN THE HEART celebrates Steve Scionti’s beloved grandfather, Angelo Morello, with all the passion and humor that’s part of most any Sicilian-American family. Scionti paints a loving family portrait by transforming himself into a dazzling array of relatives and friends – including his two shady uncles and the crazy pizza guy. This funny and touching story of Steve’s journey into adulthood will move you to laughter and tough your heart.
“Family goes across all racial and ethnic lines. You don’t have to be Italian to enjoy this show,” states Scionti, and Alvin Klein of The New York Times agrees, adding, “…though Mr. Scionti makes you think you are.”
Opening night is Thursday, October 25. Tickets are $30, plus fees, and may be purchased by calling 414-278-0765 or visiting www.nextact.org.
The one-man play, as directed by Anthony Crivello, features Los Angeles actor Steve Scionti. Crivello and Scionti have many successful productions of the play to their credit, from the New York Fringe Festival to Las Vegas to the Zephyr Theatre in West Los Angeles. The production team also includes Lighting Designer Mike Van Dreser (I AND YOU, UnSILENT NIGHT, BRAVO, CARUSO!).
