This thrilling and memorable cantata takes an unflinching view of the pleasures and perils of the human condition. Most often performed with a large symphony and choirs, this masterpiece is recreated for the intimate Cabot stage as “total theatre” in which music, movement and words are inseparable. Ages 11 and up.

Inspired by the true story of America’s first female Chinese immigrant, playwright Lloyd Suh unearths hidden history and questions the way we look at ourselves and others.
