Statement of Intent of the Affiliate Program

The United Performing Arts Fund Affiliate Program is an annual grant program that funds project grants.  Awarded on an annual basis, organizations must recognize their UPAF support during the fiscal year for which the funds are granted.  The United Performing Arts Fund will select its Affiliates to reflect the performing arts excellence serving the region.  No guarantee of funding year over year is intended nor implied in the Affiliate program.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements for Affiliate Applicants:

  1. Applicant is tax-exempt under 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.
  2. Principal objective of Applicant is one of the following:
  • The production of high quality performing-arts and employs and pays professional artists for its performances; or serves youth by providing professional
    performing arts training leading to high quality performances as evidenced by awards or other outside recognition. The training must culminate in a
    public performance of the funded experience;
  • Applicant is governed by a Board of Directors which meets regularly and at least 75% of the Directors of the Board are not employees of the Applicant;
  • Applicant compensates both administrative staff and performers.

 

Funding Exclusions:

  1. Applicant must not be government-related agencies, religious based entities or schools.
  2. School or community bands or choirs.
  3. Individuals for any purpose.
  4. Applications will not be considered for clinics, lessons and/or workshop activities that do not culminate in a performance.

 

Important Information for 2019 Funding Cycle:

  • Funding varies year to year, based on the applications received.  Awarded grants have a ceiling of $20,000.
  • All Affiliate funding decisions will be announced following UPAF Board approval in mid-September 2019.
  • If funding is received, Affiliate organization must adhere to UPAF brand and recognition standards.

 

Tips:

  • Review the entire application and gather the needed information before entering any answers.
  • Compose long answers in a program such as Microsoft Word then copy and paste your answers into the application form.
  • Do not close your browser window without saving your progress. Your information will be lost.
