Wells St.  After a record-breaking sold-out engagement in 2012, The Rep is bringing back this true story play about music legend Patsy Cline and her remarkable friendship with devoted fan Louise Seger.  Filled with two dozen unforgettable hits including “Crazy,” “I Fall to Pieces,” “Sweet Dreams” and “Walkin’ After Midnight.” Returning to reprise the role of Patsy is Rep favorite Kelley Faulkner (Guys & Dolls) who dazzled audiences in 2012 earning her rave reviews that helped create Always…Patsy Cline in being an all time greatest Stackner hit. Joining her is Milwaukee favorite Tami Workentin in the role of Louise Seger.  Always…Patsy Cline celebrates the life and music of one of the most acclaimed vocalists of the 20th century.

From Pulitzer Prize finalist and celebrated performer Dael Orlandersmith (Yellowman), comes an extraordinary theatrical event that explores the reactions of the St. Louis region to the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. After conducting hundreds of interviews, Orlandersmith crafted a stunning play featuring eight real-life characters, all with unique and interesting perspectives. These stories reflect a range of human experiences – the drive to forward one’s prospects with education, the innate need to protect our loved ones from the harsh realities of the world and the urge to seek answers to life’s biggest questions. The result is a theatrical mosaic of diverse voices that explores how a community heals and grows together.

Join us as Artistic Director Kevin Stalheim takes us on a journey, crossing a musical multiverse, exploring the contrast and parallels of new classical and traditional folk music. The concert features guest conductor David Bloom and indie composer/musician Sarah Goldfeather, who will premiere and perform three of her new pieces.

The repertoire features compositions and composers that present a dichotomy in their own depth and identity as musicians. The concert features music by Dylan Mattingly’s “Lighthouse (Refugee Music by a Pacific Evxpatriate),” Annika Socolofsky’s “a sense of who,” Donnacha Dennehy’s “As An Nós,” Dan Trueman’s “Ways Of The Underworld,” and more.

The story centers on the poet Hoffmann as he tells of his quest to find love, the ideal woman and the balance between love and art. The story of Hoffman’s three ill-fated romances features dazzling music and tour-de-force arias, including the famous Doll Aria sung by the mechanical doll Olympia.
