Art Educates

The performing arts help kids succeed.

While some people believe that arts education is a nice to have, research has shown this type of programming has a tremendous influence on a child’s EQ or Emotional Quotient, which is a proven predictor of future employability and life-long success. These outcomes are particularly evident with children prone to falling into negative behaviors.

Results from a study funded by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation determined that, in addition to raising a child’s EQ, arts education programming increases a child’s:

  • Confidence
  • Academic performance
  • Innovative and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to relate to others
  • Emotional discipline
